~Patch v0.97 Notes~


This patch introduces new tomes to the mix, and adds some much needs incentive to tomes. As a carry over from patch v0.95, we have also done some more gold adjustments and power adjustments to items. We have also introduced difficulties as a challenge to experienced players!

Knights

The buffs we granted last week have put some knights in an exceptional position of power. We're tuning back some of the knights to help balance the power creep. We've also taken another pass at Sir Gent (Shield Knight) to help him out as his kit is a bit lacking.

Sir Gent (Shield Knight)

Sir Gent's kit has become a bit lack luster and mundane. We're giving him some power and changing some skills so that he can benefit off of himself as well. As a trade off, some of his defensive stats and options have been backed down. We hope that this will make him a better independent knight.
  • Health: 200 ⇒ 160
  • Mana: 4540
  • Attack Damage: 24 ⇒ 36
  • Iron Maiden (P) {Buffed}
    • Sir Gent's attacks will create arcs of lightning if there is a nearby enemy. This deals 25% Attack Damage and heals 5% ⇒ 6% Max Health.
  • Rally (20) {Adjusted}
    • Sir Gent bangs his shield, moving an ally or himself to a target spot, applying Guarding and healing them for 20%  ⇒ 10% of their max health. If this ally is already Guarding, extend it by 1 turn and refund 100% of the mana cost.
  • Smite (20) {Adjusted}
    • Units not in the center are shoved away. {Removed}

Sir Lyse (Samurai Knight)

Sir Lyse's Sidestep has caused some unintended interactions and nerfs to his kit. The intentions of last week's buffs did not also translate the way we expected. We're giving his sidestep a mini-rework to better clarify our intentions for Sidestep
  • Sidestep (10) {Buffed}
    • If this is the first Sidestep of the turn, gain a main action ⇒ refund the bonus action.
    • Now costs a bonus action instead of a main action. {New]

Sir Archa (Bow Knight)

Sir Archa's buffs from last week have proven to be a bit stronger than we intended. We're backing down some power so he isn't as much of a power house of AOE death.
  • Arrow Rain (10) {Nerfed}
    • Damage: 65% ⇒ 50%
  • Bouncing Arrow (10) {Nerfed}
    • Damage: 50% ⇒ 40%
  • Splitting Arrow (20) {Nerfed}
    • Originally said 75%, but was doing 100%
    • Damage: 100% ⇒ 65%

Mobs

As knights grow stronger, the Desecrator has not received any significant buffs or changes. We're giving him some power to help fight back!

Desecrator

  • Uproar {Buffed}
    • Damage Buff: 10 ⇒ 15

Items

The way item damage has been calculated has been changed. This previous calculation system provided much more damage than was intended. Item gold and damage has also been adjusted as part of a carry over from last week.
  • Items now use base damage as the base calculation instead of final damage.

Mistimed Clock {Reworked}

  • Targeting an empty spot with a skill grants 10 Attack Damage to the holder for 1 turn. {Removed}
  • Leftover main actions and bonus actions are carried to the next turn. {New}

Flare {Nerfed}

  • Burning Duration: 2 ⇒ 1 Turn

Cursed Anger Seal {Adjusted}

  • Gold: 30 ⇒ 20
  • Bonus True Damage: 10 ⇒ 5

Fifty Leaf Clover {Adjusted}

  • Gold: 34 ⇒ 15
  • Non-critical attacks deal 25% ⇒ 45% less damage.

Converging Wand {Reworked}

  • The holder gains 10 bonus damage for every turn they do not attack. {Removed}
  • The holder gains 15% more damage for every adjacent ally. {New}

Tomes

Tomes have been overlooked for quite some time. We've added some new tomes with immense power and low costs to incentivize their purchase.

Strike Down (18) {New}

  •  Deal 80% Attack Damage and inflict Vulnerable. If they are already Vulnerable deal 160% Attack Damage instead and consume Vulnerable.

Dark Embrace (10) {New}

  • Grants the user Invisible for 2 turns. If the user is already Invisible, consume Invisible, gain 50% increased damage for this turn, and gain a Main Action.

Reckless Assault () {New}

  •  Become Vulnerable for 2 turns and deal 125% Attack Damage. If you are Close, deal 200% instead.

Corrosion (10) {New}

  • Apply Acid to an enemy. If they already have Acid reduce their Flat Defense by 4 for 2 turns. This effect may stack.

Amalgamation (15) {New}

  • Deal 90% Attack Damage and inflict Plagued. If they are already Plagued, trigger Plagued for as many enemies there are.

Bug Fixes / QOL

  • Units that are stunned will now gain a buff, allowing them to resist stun for 2 turns after the initial stun effect wears off.
  • Bestiary now saves over multiple runs while the game is active. Closing the game will reset the Bestiary.
  • New encounters have been added.
  • Multi-difficulties have been added.
  • Combat scene now shows more in-depth statistics and explanations.
  • Small bug fixes in the shop.
  • Full health knights no longer need to pay the inn fee.
  • Overworld now has weather effects.
