~Patch v0.90 Notes~


This weeks patch will be more focused on balance changes and addressing the player-to-mob power spikes throughout the game. We have mainly targeted large item issues where certain items may cause the game to become unbeatable or flat out win the game for the player. This patch also introduces some new gold nerfs that previously allowed players to buy an excess amount of items. As of now, we have not yet done a thorough pass on the cost of items, the price of new knights, or the cost of resting at an inn. These issues will be addressed in patch v0.95.

Knights

Nothing too much for knights. We are mostly addressing some first week playtest issues for Aki, the Summoner Knight.

Aki (Summoner Knight)

Small clarity changes along with AI fixes to her saplings.
  • Summon Sapling (25) {Nerfed}
    • Aki's saplings will now also die if Aki dies in combat.
    • Saplings will now show their current size and power in their passive item.
    • Saplings will no longer attempt to heal dead units.
  • Requiem (0) {Buffed}


    • Restores mana equal to the saplings mana.
  • Grow! (15) {Buffed}
    • Increases the mana pool of saplings by 5.

Mobs

Some of the encounter configurations have been adjusted due to some of them being incredibly difficult.

Harpy

  • Sharp Talons (P) {New}
    • Basic attacks deal 50% more damage and inflict Incurable for 2 turns
  • Attack Damage: 30 ⇒ 27

Items

Items are an incredibly potent and ingrained mechanic. At the moment, most equipment outweigh the value of most consumables. This patch focused on basic number balancing and some new items. We will look into the gold value and gold efficiency in patch v0.95.

Pebbles {New}

  • +3 Mana Regen

Tim's Axe

  • -5 speed ⇒ When the holder moves, they lose 3 speed for 1 turn.

50 Leaf Clover

  • -50% Critical Damage ⇒ -25% damage on non-critical hits.

Cursed Bunyip Eye

  • Cost: 20 ⇒ 30

Anger Seal

  • -20 Max Health ⇒ -30 Max Health

Tomes

We have started doing some passes over tomes to have them be a reasonable purchase in towns. Tomes are meant to offer new and interesting methods of gameplay that the knights do not normally possess. We've buffed some of the power, while mitigating some of the gold costs, as well as introduced some new ones.

Star Scorcher (10) {Adjusted}

  • Mana Cost: 20 ⇒ 10
  • Damage: 100% Attack Damage ⇒ 50% Attack Damage

Life Sap (0) {New}

  • Target an ally and steal up to 20 Health and 10 Mana. This skills consumes one bonus action.

Blood Bath (10) {New}

  • Consumes 10 + 20% Max Health to deal equal flat damage to a target enemy. Killing an enemy with this skill grants an extra main action.

Lightning Bolt (20) {Reworked}

  • Fire a lightning bolts, dealing 40% of this units Attack Damage twice. This skills consume both a main and bonus action.

Healing Mist (20) {Reworked}

  • Heal an ally unit for 20% of their Max Health, and cleanses them of all effects.

Bug Fixes / QOL

  • Fixed a bug where purchased consumables did not show up in the inventory.
  • Fixed a bug where the shop would only display the most recently obtained knight.
  • Fixed a bug where the party overlay would stay on top if you purchased a new knight.
  • Fixed an issue where unit choices were not as varied as they should have been.
  • Animation speeds have been increased for faster gameplay.
  • Title Screen has been updated
  • Scene Transitions have been updated
  • VFX have been updated
  • SFX have been updated
  • Plains combat map now has a chance for rain
  • New hit and death effects
  • UI Updates to shop
  • Players can now view and hover over existing skill on knights in the Tome Shop.
  • Page sizing, margins, and text size has been standardized.
